“Recently, we have regrettably observed defamatory and malicious reports in some print, visual, and online media outlets about our company, Yalıkavak Bodrum Restoran İşletmeleri A.Ş. As our sole activity is the operation of ‘Bodrum Bagatelle,’ we feel compelled to make this statement.
Bagatelle, a renowned restaurant chain operating in many countries, has earned its reputation for quality and service. Since 2022, it has been operating as ‘Bagatelle Bodrum’ at Yalıkavak Marina, Turkey’s first high-capacity super yacht marina.
Bagatelle, a French hospitality brand originating in New York, has provided quality employment to hundreds of people in Bodrum within just two years. Claims such as ‘tax evasion’ against Bagatelle Bodrum are intended to mislead the public through misinformation. Bagatelle Bodrum has only been in operation for two years and was established with a significant capital investment. It is normal for a newly established company to incur losses within the framework of a free market economy. Additionally, focusing solely on corporate tax is a simplistic and misleading approach. Bagatelle Bodrum has made substantial payments to the state budget in the form of VAT and other taxes over the past two years. Our tax returns and payments are regularly audited by the Revenue Administration, and no irregularities have been found during routine inspections by public authorities. Detailed information about our tax payments can be obtained from the authorized institutions. Manipulating facts to portray the losses of Bagatelle Bodrum, which operates in Yalıkavak Marina, the pride of our country as the Best Super Yacht Marina of 2023, as unusual is a simple manipulation technique. Restaurants and other businesses within Yalıkavak Marina have their own tax numbers and independently file tax returns. Our company also declares its costs and revenues within the legal framework. Any encountered costs reflect the size of orders and our commitment to providing high-quality luxury services.
Since its establishment in Turkey, Bagatelle Bodrum has operated under the scrutiny of our state, without engaging in any illegal activities. Our company fulfills its commercial obligations, including notifications, tax returns, and related accrual and collection processes, without delay, setting an example of prudent business practices. Despite all these facts, it is evident that the reports have been prepared in a manner that casts doubt on the public and private organizations conducting these audits.
