Scandalous decision from France, Réunion Delegation Detained in Paris. French Security Forces used Psychological Pressure.
A delegation from Réunion Island that traveled to Baku to participate in the conference “Réunion’s Independence: View on France’s Colonial Legacy and Path to Sovereignty” conference in Azerbaijan, was detained by French security forces at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport on the way back.
According to Caliber, French intelligence officials interrogated the delegation members extensively about the reasons for their visit to Azerbaijan, their cooperation with the Baku Initiative Group and the meetings held during the conference in Baku.
During this time, the delegation members were kept in a special room at the airport and subjected to psychological pressure. They were released a few hours after the interrogation.
